In a Movement like our Movement, the center is the person, each one of us. For this reason, from the beginning, the main concern is to be present, to be aware of ourselves, to be in the center of this meeting, to be with all our being, here. And to be here with all our being means to be aware with all our consciousness that we can be here formally, with a formalism. But formalism means that we are not with the whole “I” present. The most important part of our “I” is outside, it’s faraway. To be present, to be with all our heart, to be with all our “I,” means to be with consciousness of our need. And for this reason, the most important gesture – the gesture that is more according to our nature is to pray, is to cry out, to the Holy Spirit. The only One who has the strength to make everyone present. Because we are not able to make ourselves present with all our “I”. Not even, said St. Paul, to pray according to our convenience. We are men so poor, people so poor, that we only can cry out: Christ, through the Holy Spirit, come and help us.
